BIO
Ricardo Diaz is a Los Angeles based cinematographer who has shot award winning feature films, television, documentaries, and commercials all over the world. Narrative feature credits include "First Girl I Loved" (Sundance Film Festival - Next Audience Award Winner), “Brian Banks” (LA Film Festival - Best Fiction Film Audience Award Winner), and “The Violent Heart” (Tribeca Film Festival). Recently, his foray into genre landed him critical praise for his work on Legendary’s “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” and global sensation “Stranger Things 4”. In 2023, he lensed AGBO’s thriller “All Fun & Games” and HBO’s “Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty" which earned him his first ASC Award nomination for his episode “The Second Coming”. His commercial clients include ATT, AdCouncil, Hollister, Angi, Work.com, Wayfair, The Boys & Girls Club, Visit Las Vegas, and Proactiv for which he shot their 2017 Super Bowl spot starring Olivia Munn. Ricardo holds a B.S. in Film from the University of Texas and an M.F.A. in Cinematography from The American Film Institute Conservatory.
